Kenneth Larson was born February 23, 1951 in Val Marie, Saskatchewan. He attended 3 different schools in Val Marie, beginning with the little red brick building that is now the community museum, later the middle school and for two years the new high school. He left Saskatchewan in 1967 after the 10th grade and moved to St. Ignatius to help with his aging grandparents, Gladys and Ural Walker, who had moved south in 1959. He also spent a lot of time with his aunt and uncle Glen and Patty Murphy, where Patty taught first grade and Glen ranched in the beautiful Mission valley. He graduated from Mission High School in 1969 and attended college in Havre, earning an Elementary Education degree from Northern Montana College. While attending college he met and married Vicke Caves
